AACOO ANNUAL MEETING / RENDEZVOUS

JULY 12 TO 13, 2008

The American Association of Caucasian Ovcharka Owners

Invites you, the owners of Caucasian Ovcharka dogs, to a most exciting event.
You do not have to be a member of AACOO
 

This page will give you more detailed information on our first ever 2008 AACOO Annual Meeting / Rendezvous. We will update as more information becomes available. If you have any questions please call Mary (406-889-5037) or Jackie (406-485-2020).

Print the form, fill it out and send it in with your payment (before June 15th to qualify for the early-bird) price of $10 per adult per day of the event. Children are welcome free of charge. If you pay day of the show, add $5 per day.

Included in the price are two meals (brunch and dinner) and snacks per day, RV or tent space on the grounds and admittance to all the fun and interesting events. For a list of dog-friendly motels in the area see section below.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday Evening: Early arrivals / Pizza dinner compliments of AACOO
Saturday:
10:00 am:  Brunch & Orientation
Breakfast buffet of pancakes, eggs, sausages, rolls, fruits, juices, etc. Come hungry!
The day's orientation will fill you in on the more precise times of events for the day, house rules, and getting to know dogs and owners.
The AACOO Store will be open after brunch and at various times throughout both days. There will be several items for sale that are particularly suited for our breed, including:

  • AACOO Mugs

  • T-shirts

  • Mat Raker grooming tool

  • Leashes

  • Dog dishes

  • Books

  • Dog treats

  • Souvenirs

  • Mary's Specialties: yarn, hats, scarves and other articles spun and knitted from CO "chiengora" (dog hair)

  • and more

  • Anyone who has dog-related items they would like to sell is welcome to bring them

Photo Shoot: Candid pictures will be taken of the Rendezvous throughout the day, but this is an opportunity for owners and their dogs to have their portraits taken if they wish.
Fun Obstacle Course: This is a fun event where everyone is a winner.
Snack Time: Lots of healthy veggies and dips and munchies (and some not-so-healthy ones too)
Question & Answer Session: Canine Health (Nancy Haugen, DVM)
Workshop: Canine Good Citizen (Pam Duncan & Pravda)

Seminar: Canine Osteopathic Conditions / New Canine Laser Surgery  (David Marion, DVM)
6:00 PM Campfire Cookout
Barbequed Moose burgers, hot dogs, sloppy Joes, potato salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, watermelon, etc
Discussion: Showing Your Dog  Rules, tips for showing your dog in companion dog events and confirmation with UKC, ARBA & AKC
Demonstration: Dog Hair to Dog Hat (Mary DeMott)

WHAT TO BRING:
Your well-behaved Caucasian Ovcharka dog (limit of one or two dogs per family, please)
Leashes
Tie-outs, show crates, etc.
Dog's food / water dishes
Dog's food. We have good water, but some like to bring their own
Dog treats
Sleeping bags, tents
Folding chairs
Musical instruments
Campfire stories
Dog-related movies (dvd format)
Dog-related items for sale

WHAT NOT TO BRING:
No overly aggressive dogs
No bitches in heat
No fleas, ticks, diseases
No alcoholic beverages
No bad attitudes :))

Dogs must be under owner's control at all times - on leash, in their crate or car or staked out safely. Dogs (and people) who are not well behaved and considerate will be asked to leave.

ACCOMODATIONS:
You are welcome to pitch a tent or sleep on our floor. We have parking for campers and trailers. So bring your sleeping bag and/or RV, or stay in nearby dog-friendly motels:
